Bottom Line:running these at 28 psi

the best tire i have ridden on to date. rolls fast, corners superbly and can get out of the saddle on steep
climbs without tire spin. these blow, i mean blow away the nevegals in all aspects of riding.

really surprised at the reviews here, wonder if they are running the tire at higher psi?

anyhow, go out and buy and enjoy!

    Strengths:Fast rolling
    Good cornering traction
    2bliss
    Lightweight
Weaknesses:Climbing traction good, but not great.
    Sidewalls flimsy
Not the best in the wet
    Similar Products Used:Nevegal
    Bike Setup:El Guapo, 6" f/r
Bottom Line:This tire is a great all-around tire. The 2bliss allows me to run it tubeless but without the weight of an UST tire. On some loose climbs this tire fights for traction but it's not terrible. Cornering is very predictable, although the bike must be laid over to really dig in the side knobs. It's pretty tough in the rocks, the same rocky trails that were tearing knobs off my Nevegal.

Strengths:lightweight, roll pretty fast for a big tire, corner very well
    Weaknesses:get sloppy when aired down
    Similar Products Used:Nevegal 2.35, Resolution 2.3
    Bike Setup:06 Stumpy Sworks
Bottom Line:Got a pair of these tires after being throughly disappointed in the Nevegal UST's. First impression was that they rolled really fast and were very confidence inspiring railing downhill, and over large technical terrain. They held very nicely in tight fast corners, even when in loose over hardpack when leaned hard onto the lugs. However, they sometimes felt sluggish and less than nimble in fast swoopy single track. I dropped the pressure to get a more "tubeless" feel and traction and that is when they fall flat. Specialized makes their sidewalls thin..this is not a UST tire and thus it is very sloppy when run at a lower pressure. I think they are pretty decent tires if you are looking to handle bigger terrain and want a large volume tire for a big contact patch and only when aired up, but they are not a nimble tire when aired down as they roll too much because of a thin sidewall. I have since replaced them with a pair of Ignitors which I am pretty pleased with after the first ride.

    Strengths:Weight, Speed
Weaknesses:Cornering in loose dry rocking trails
Similar Products Used:Resolution, Nevegal, Spiders, Enduro
    Bike Setup:06 Enduro
Bottom Line:These tires roll really well but I guess because of that they don't corner well at all in Dry, loose, rockying conditions. I replaced my resolution tires with these as they stopped making them and I have no where near the cornering I had with those.

I am taking this tire of the front and will put a Nevegal up front and leave the Eskar in the rear.

    Strengths:phenomenal grip, 2bliss
Weaknesses:none so far... looks like a maxxis clone?
Similar Products Used:kenda blue groove, nevegal, etc.
Bike Setup:'07 enduro sl (with '08 suspension), running eskar 2.3 front, the captain 2.0 rear, ghetto tubeless with stan's
Bottom Line:from the very first ride i found this to be the most confidence-inspiring tire i've ever ridden on. i've been railing flat, dusty corners like never before. i think most modern trail tires have pretty good grip, so the best you can hope for is a tire that makes you trust its grip. the eskar does that for me. i read some reviews before i bought it, and i worried a little about the sidewall weakness, because the trails here are pretty rocky. so far i haven't had a problem, and i have skimmed the sidewalls on some nasty-looking rocks.

Strengths:Serious grip, cornering, rolls decent for a big tire.
    Weaknesses:SIDEWALLS!!
    Similar Products Used:Maxxis, Kenda.
Bike Setup:S-works Enduro SL. DT Swiss tubeless conversion.
Bottom Line:I was recommended this tire by the local shop because they offered exactly what I was looking for. The traction and cornering are phenomenal. All was good until I went through 2 s-works versions of this tire and 1 Control within a month of riding. All 3 had sidewall sliting issues. I liked the tires so much that I stuck with them thinking I had bad luck. After the last one that tore at mile 8, I've given up and I'm going back to Maxxis or Kenda.

Strengths:Lightweight, true to size, tread pattern, cornering
Weaknesses:weak sidewalls, even under the tread.
Similar Products Used:hutchinson barracuda, schwalbe fat albert
    Bike Setup:heckler
Bottom Line:this tire performs very well on the rear, lihjt, accelarates and brakes well, corners on a dime. however, not durable. Sidewalls are paper thin, cut easily, and if you even get a nailhole between the tread, the casing will tear a little next to the hole and stan's won't really seal it. too bad because I really like the way this tire rides. i wouldn't mind if it was a little heavier with stronger casing. i wish they made it in a true UST version, the "2-bliss" thing isn't the same. I'm still giving it a decent value rating because of the price.

    Bike Setup:2008 Enduro SL Expert
Bottom Line:A pair of these tires came on my sweet new Enduro SL, and I really liked them, until I blew out a sidewall (I'm guessing on a sharp-ish rock) yesterday on a ride. I've only ridden them about 8 times so far. The sidewalls are touted as "lightweight", and I really think that had something to do with it. I've never blown out a sidewall before and have ridden Maxxis, WTBs, and Kendas on this same trail many, many times. A great tire traction-wise, but questionable sidewall/casing durability.

Strengths:Fast Rolling, Cornering bite,2Bliss, Light for it's size, supple casing, HUGE Volume.
Weaknesses:Made by the great Satan, possible fragile casing, semi-knock off of Maxxis tires.

Bottom Line:I'm a MOUNTAIN BIKER through and through and have been since 1982. I race XC, Super D and DH, I was a top 20 Expert BMXer in the 80's.

I've been using the Eskars for about a month and this is my initial opinion on these tires....

They are a cut above the Ressies which I had been using, I race Dville XC with Ressies. - The Ressie's were huge volume, and fast rolling due to the center row of knobs, they hooked up in Duff, Hard pack, Rocks, they were mountable with a Floor Pump. They only lacked in hard cornering grip in certain conditions.

I'd been in THC mentioning how I liked the Ressies but wanted a little more loose traction and cornering power, and lo and behold the Big S delivered this tire to market in the weeks prior to Interbike.

The Eskar's are also a dual compound tire, but the center row has been replaced with a similar tread as the Maxxis Advantage, but with the shoulder knobs of a High Roller.

I've been using this tire in Demo, Wilder, and on my homeward bound goat trails. I've yet to find a limitation on the tire, It just plain RIPS. Sickeningly hooking up, it has the traction of and the predictable drift of High Rollers, plus the fast roll of the Ressie. I can make my pavement cross town(SCruz)warm up, easily pulling 13-15mph. These tires roll like Semi Slicks! and grip dirt like Velcro.

    Try'em!!!!

It's inexpensive, seems durable, has huge volume and is 2bliss.

I'm buying a couple sets of these.
