Strengths:these rims came on my bike when i got it over a year ago and theyve been good rims. i ride trials and ive only had them trued once(only got charged £2 aswell cos they were hardly out) very strong rims, absolutly great for thrashing.i just feel confident when riding them, good braking surface, look ok.solid!
Weaknesses:when i got my bike i got sh*t loads of punctures...they had just been so badly finished off, there was loadsa little bits of metal swarf and sharp bits inside the rim.there were sharp bits on the edge of the rim that had to be filed down. they also came with ddg hubs which suck(see review) a bit narrow looking,i dont know but really wide tyres might pop off on a dodgy side landing etc.also seem a bit heavy
Bike Setup:ddg blackjack, hs33s, el gato tyres
Bottom Line:good solid rims, ideal if you need something that can take a hammering and wont cost loads to replace. after the time ive had them, only gettin them trued once about 5 months ago my bike wheel is still percfect and my front one is only slightly egged by about 2mm. shame about the bad finishing. get them built on decnet hubs etc.
