Strengths:This is actually a review for the Butcher.
Indestructible. Bought the spare set of hoops off a friend who regularly tacoes the toughest of rims. He didnt need them.

Over three years of downhill and urban assault abuse and just now needing a slight true of the rear wheel.
Weaknesses:they dont make them anymore.

You need motorcycle tire levers to get your tire on them.
Similar Products Used:PTW. Velocity Psychos.
Bike Setup:B1 DS racer. Z1 FR. Raceface cranks and BB. XT drivetrain. Thompson.
06 Azonic steelhead. Swapped parts out of B1.
Bottom Line:Three years of boulders, loading docks, and stair gaps, and barely out of true. These will probably last the duration of my stunt riding, which is probably why they dont make them anymore.

Strengths:Dope ass rim. Super strong and bury with a 12mm axle that stays put. Allowes me to run a 2.8 Michelin on a Azonic Eliminator frame. Great and loud hub, but entire rim is very high quality. Trial riders will love the side wall that is machined for rim brakes. WARNING: rim is really wide 43mm!! That stretched that michelin contact patch a lot. I wish I had one on the front! Overall I am proud to bomb this rim and I will buy the front the same when the time comes. Great rim for trials riders and big time downhillers. Not for cross country sally boys.
Weaknesses:none at all
Similar Products Used:Vuelta FR20 Freeride rim with a Marzocchi Qr20 hub. Sun rims Ditch Witch. Mavic DeeMax
Bike Setup:2002 Azonic Eliminator with a 2003 Romic 9.0" shock and 9.5" of travel. Dual 2.8 Michelins and a 2002 Super T. Also, Hayes 2003 HFX-Mag HD 8" brakes.
Bottom Line:Excellent rim for two styles of riding: trials and DH. Loved the fatness (43mm), loved the Hub, loved the tr axle, and love the burliness of the rim. Great value considering the Mavic DeeMax are 600 a pair!! This rim is definetely worthy of top bikes, but its only drawback for pro riders will be its weight. Go tubeless to be safe.
