Description:These new Lexan pedals are incredibly strong. They are more impact resistant than aluminum and the new bearingless spindle design is so durable and smooth that they can be run without grease. 1 year warranty, not that you'll need it. By the way - Do NOT loosen the pedals! They are meant to be stiff.

Is $120 really neccessary? I was using Wellgo magnesium pedals from Supergo that cost $40 for the last year which were about the same weight but smaller platform and not quite as grippy. I'm still happy I got the Atomic Ballistic pedals for the overall performance increace and "cool" factor though. | | Similar Products Used: | Shimano platform ($100), Atomic Trailpimp ($80), Wellgo magnesium ($40), and those crappy plastic ones that come with $90 Costco bikes hehe. | | Bike Setup: | Specialized Enduro Expert w/Stratos Helix Pro 6" travel, Marzocchi Z1 MCR 5", King headset, Easton carbon bars, Easton magnesium DH stem, 6" XT hydro disc brakes, XT cranks, Atomic Ballistic pedals, XTR derailleurs, XT rapidfire shifters, Raceface bashguard, RhynoLite/XT hubs w/2.3" WTB kevlar Werewolf front and Motoraptor 2.1" rear tires (40% lighter than Maxxis, 1/3 less expensive, and still no flats after 2yrs!) | | Bottom Line: | These are great pedals, and anyone who says otherwise obviously abused theirs or had a distorted view of reality (such as thinking their pedals should always survive a cliff drop when they bail off). I've hopped an entire flight (10 feet) of stairs landing onto flat concrete (no downslope) and never damaged my pedals...just my jewels. Be realistic, nothing is indestructable. The manufacturer advertizes them as indestructable, and who can resist a clear pedal. But, let me give you some advise. Don't be swayed. The pedals don't grip, and chip on every rock you hit them on. However, I'm afraid to return it (just the inside corner broke off so it is still rideable, but...) after reading the trailking reviews about how bad customer service is... do I want to be without pedals for 3 months? And they are way too $$$ Especially since I think I got ripped off - $210 CDN on sale? Shame on you Calgary C@y%e.
By the way - they DO grip like nothing else - but buy the aircorp - same grip without the breakage (hopefully)

Bearingless design means that you can forget about maintenence, and never worry about blowing bearings again. I've done 15+ foot drops on these, and they haven't budged.
