$15.00 | | Purchased At: | ebay | | Strengths: | keeps chain on most of the time | | Weaknesses: | flimsy, bends easily, makes annoyin noises in high gears due to chain rub, IMPOSSIBLE to set up as you have to tighten about 4 or 5 bolts at the same time, move one bit and the whole thing goes out of line. also, it sometimes lets the chain off and gets it stuck between the chain cage and ring, lucky its so easy to bend because it wouldnt come out otherwise, still takes ages though. not a good design. | | Similar Products Used: | dcd | | Bike Setup: | rock shox, deore lx 9spd stuff, tioga factory 2.3 tyres, rhyno lite rim, avid, specialized stuff, etc. | | Bottom Line: | do not buy new, its WELL not worth it, about 25 quid. i wouldnt pay more than 10 for it. even better, why not get something to keep your chain on, like some sort of pulley wheel shaped device? | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$40.00 | | Purchased At: | Local Bikeshop | | Strengths: | Cheap, simple, can be adjusted with normal washers etc. | | Weaknesses: | Poor design, easily knocked out of line, takes ages to set up properly, chain makes annoying sounds in certain gears when it rubs on the nylon blocks. | | Similar Products Used: | DMR chain reactor, MRP copy (mr control - crap) | | Bike Setup: | Norco Torrent, '01 Drop-Offs, On-One 3pc cranks, chain reactor + cage, 9spd Deore bits etc | | Bottom Line: | Pretty crap to be honest, but for the money it has to be expected. It looks like something out of a Meccano set or a GCSE engineering project. Not the best design by any means, but if set up properly and not whacked with a stray foot it does the job. Sometimes. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

USA Date Reviewed: May 13, 2003 | | Favorite Trail: | skatepark | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Purchased At: | came with bike | | Strengths: | keeps chain on | | Weaknesses: | CHEAP!! this thing bends SO easily. i'm glad i didn't pay money for it. | | Bike Setup: | sram 8speed, norco 250. | | Bottom Line: | well, it works, but if you catch it with a pant leg or something, it's screwed. period, it is really flimsy. but it works. i don't know what kind of value it might be because i didn't pay for it, but i was told it costs around 45-50 U.S. bucks. not worth it. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$30.00 | | Purchased At: | sunset cycles UK | | Strengths: | It looks pretty cool i guess | | Weaknesses: | VERY hard to set up, one little knock means you need to re-adjust. chain rubs an awful lot. Cheap materials, says its strong but is weak. | | Similar Products Used: | none, but ive just purchased a MRP slalom device. | | Bike Setup: | Custom made slalom frame, bomber z5's, hydraulic rim brakes. Dmr seat, 24/7 bar and stem combo, the usual jump/slalom/downhill. | | Bottom Line: | Dont even think of buying this, it may work well for a while but the chain will always fall off, and it will brake very easily, the cage metal is cheap, and the bolts and flimsy. Overall crap. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
