But then I had similar experience with Shimano's chains too. XT cranks, LX cassette, XT rear shifter. | | Bottom Line: | This chain has provided good reliable service over the last six months of dealing with riding in abrasive sand and dealing with a first time rider doing some pretty scary shifts. The chain is now showing minimal wear so I have shifted it onto a bike I use for wind training. Have just bought a new Shimano CN-7701 (XTR chain) which appears to shift slightly better - but then I am comparing a new chain with one that has had six months wear and tear. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Mine went after about 2 months of XC riding on a new XT chainset that was cleaned after every ride. I'd had a stock Shimano jobbie on for over a year of heavy XC abuse in all conditions without any problems.
