$105.00 | | Purchased At: | Jenson On-line | | Strengths: | Light, price was okay on sale | | Weaknesses: | Durability | | Similar Products Used: | SRAM, Shimano | | Bike Setup: | SCOTT, XTR, FOX, RACEFACE, CERIT, PANARACER, AVID | | Bottom Line: | I used the cassette for one race season and the training/riding that went along with that. One of the cogs sheared off between two of the three pins that hold the light, efficient assembly together. I would have rather hurt for the few grams in weight and had an additional pin | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$160.00 | | Purchased At: | os | | Strengths: | light, the ti looks pretty, runs well with M960 cranks and shifters. | | Weaknesses: | I found that I was slipping in some of the middle gears after approx 200 kms of trail riding, to look down and find one of the middle rings sheered completely off. It broke into many pieces and I was only able to retrieve two of the many bits left to find out what happened. I will never buy M960 again and am very disappointed in the premium price spent on a poorly manufactured product. It appears that XTR is now more about weight than endurance, it certainly has not stood up to previous XTR performance. | | Similar Products Used: | XTR M952, XT M760, XTR 8 speed | | Bike Setup: | Several, Gary Fisher Supercaliber 29er, Kinesis XC 120. | | Bottom Line: | Yeah its light, it looks pretty and initially runs well, however if you ride on trails that this is supposedly designed for do not go into wilderness areas without a spare and tools. Not designed to last and a huge disappointment on previous XTR products which were built to perform and last many a season. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

My 4th ride middle ring broke right off - and I'm no pedal pusher, I'm really gentle on my legs and my climbing power. Reading the reviews I'm not the only one that had this problem - don't buy! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$135.00 | | Purchased At: | Bicycle Warehouse | | Strengths: | Lightweight. Smooth transitions. | | Weaknesses: | Soft material. Bent so easy on medium to power climbs. Pricey | | Similar Products Used: | sram p-990 | | Bike Setup: | 06 Trance 1 with xtr and XO. Fox32 rlc fork and rp23 rear. | | Bottom Line: | The first xtr 960 came with the bike when I bought brand new in Nov '06. The first set were worn out after less than 900 miles on it. Tried to stay with the same xtr 960 cassette for the second time around. 200 miles later with the same trails that I take and couple of 12 hour races, the T34, T32, and T28 were bent during a medium climb with my friends and teammates. I switched to Sram p990. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$110.00 | | Purchased At: | ebay | | Strengths: | Very light weight. | | Weaknesses: | Middle ring on cassette sheared off after about 12 rides. Im not a pedal masher either. | | Similar Products Used: | Middle of the line Shimano - didnt have a problem with at all. | | Bike Setup: | Trek 8500, FSA pro team carbon cranks, chris king headset, control tech skewers, Selle seat 130g, ext.. | | Bottom Line: | I will not buy this product again. It is very light which I loved buy i will sacrifice the the weight for something more durable. there is no reason why the middle chain ring should have sheered off. I really have never seen this happen before and can never explain it. The price is outragous for who long it lasted. And the shifting was not as good as the $50 heavy shimano cassette i had on before!! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$110.00 | | Purchased At: | RBM | | Strengths: | Light for a mass produced cassette. | | Weaknesses: | Bends easily with massive climbing leg torque. | | Similar Products Used: | XT | | Bike Setup: | Klein Adroit Pro = 20.5 lbs. | | Bottom Line: | This is a decent cassette. I had one that came with my bike and replaced it after it bent. I bent the second one with very little abuse, mostly hammering it on uphill climbs. After the second bent, I made the move to XT and have had great luck with it. 5 yrs total with about 5k miles of hard off road a yr. on the XT and little wear. Never had to replace, rebuild or reshape the XT. Buy this if you are a weight weenie with a bike crew that can reshape the ti after each ride. Buy this if you are not a power climber. Do not buy this if you need something that lasts the test of time. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$150.00 | | Purchased At: | performance | | Strengths: | its light and worked for awile | | Weaknesses: | bent the whole cassette, but it was a really steep trail. held up fine before that | | Similar Products Used: | xt | | Bike Setup: | s-works hardtail, full xtr | | Bottom Line: | this thing worked awesome with my rapid rise xtr. i punished the hell out of it for a year of sporadic x-country races and one hundred miler. was sad to see my big 3 ti rings doing a wave but it did great til then. Im buying an 11-34 tomorrow | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
