    Favoriate Trail:anything with dirt
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $49.00
Strengths:Good quality construction with good materials.
    Weaknesses:The liner is cheaply made.
Similar Products Used:Fox Mid-ranger, Fox Epic, Hoss Ponderosa
Bike Setup:Ironhorse warrior 5.0, fox float 32 RLC, X.9 trany and shifters, Panaracer tires, avid juicy 7 brakes, shimano XT pedals and cassette, Raceface cranks
Bottom Line:Either spend more to get the Epic or less to get the Pondersoa or the Mid-ranger. These are not worth the money, unless you rip out the chamois. It feels like cardboard.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $80.00
    Purchased At:competativesports.com
Strengths:The fit, the zippered and the snap front.
    Weaknesses:Padding
Bottom Line:I like the looks and fit of the shorts. The snap front and the zipper are really nice. The adjustable velcro srtaps are real useful for adjusting the fit. However the padding is way to much. It's like riding with about 3 big kotex pads between your legs and really gauld the crotch area. I had my wife rip out about 1/2 of the padding. They are still not what I would like but they're excepable. My suggestion is that you save your money on these over priced over stuffed shorts and get something less expensive with less padding.

    Date Reviewed: June 1, 2006
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $60.00
    Purchased At:REI
Strengths:Soft, zip vents, and stash pocket on back of waist.
    Weaknesses:Chamois is the best.
    Similar Products Used:Fox Epic Shorts
Bike Setup:Salsa Moto Rapido, Fox F80RLT fork, X-9, Race Face Deus Cranks, Easton EC90 Riser bars, Thomson Stem & Post
Bottom Line:They didn't hold up nearly as long as I thought they would. The chamois starting tearing from liner quickly with much less use than my Epic had. Because of the attached liner it's hard to get a good fit. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more and get yourself the Fox Epic shorts.

But they are still better than most mountain shorts you'll find out there.

Bottom Line:these are so comfortable and fit so well that i wear them as regular shorts as well. i am going to buy another pair. they are durable and breathe/vent well. they are actually cooler than my lycra shorts. the chamy is well padded. i do not put them into the drier because i want them to last and because they dry so fast. you will like these shorts.

Strengths:Excellent fit for the American body. Those European cuts just don't do it for me. The fit and feel of these shorts is awesome.
    Weaknesses:None.

    Date Reviewed: August 7, 2003
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $75.00
    Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Awesome styling, very comfortable, breathability, durability
Weaknesses:small outside pocket would be nice
Similar Products Used:too many to list
    Bike Setup:'03 Enduro
Bottom Line:I've tried lot of different shorts and these fit me the best out of all of them. Everyone is built a little different and so the same short isn't going to work for everyone. My legs are big and so I needed something that wasn't going to cut my circulation off, which is a problem I find with alot of shorts. The spandex liners in alot of them are to small for me, but these fit perfect. Actually most of the Fox line of shorts fit awesome. They also handle crashes pretty well. I would recommend these shorts to anyone as long as they fit.

    Favoriate Trail:Olympic Park
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $40.00
    Purchased At:Pricepoint.com
    Strengths:Fit, Looks, Design
    Weaknesses:Stitching is sub-par
    Similar Products Used:Azonic
Bike Setup:Schwinn Rocket 88 Disc, Fox Float, Manitou SX-R, XT, Rhyno lites, Avid mechanical disc brakes, Flak Jackets, Easton Monkeylite XC riser bars, Yeti grips, Easton EC70 carbon post, Easton EA50 stem, RaceFace cranks, Michelin Tires, Egg Beaters
Bottom Line:Good Fit (not too baggy), I like the liner, They grip the seat very well. I'm not sure about the chamois (My butt hurts more with it than with liner-less shorts. These shorts look great! The only down fall is the stitching, These shorts are about to rip apart after only 5 rides (and yes, I bought the right size). Something with a m.s.r.p. of $79 should be put together a litle better. I got these for half of that and because of this I think that they are a wise purchase (I'm taking them to a seemstress to have some heavy-duty stitching put in them.

    Date Reviewed: March 31, 2003
    Favoriate Trail:BriceCreek
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $40.00
    Purchased At:Jenson USA
Strengths:These shorts are durable, comftorable, and lets not forget feature the Fox name.
Weaknesses:The spandex liner is a bit loose on me. The leg openings are also a bit tight, but for XC use is okay.
Similar Products Used:Other baggy shorts with spandex liner such as Fox's race demo's and mid ranger, and Pearl Izumi Voltana's
Bike Setup:2003 Trek fuel 98 with many upgrades
Bottom Line:Overall, this is a very good short for XC use. I would not recommend them for downhill or freeride. I do not think they are worth the full retail value, but since i got a good deal on them since they are the 2002's, they are a sweet deal. I recently got the 2003's and will write a review on them when i ride with them more. If you see them for around this price, they are definitely worth it.

Favoriate Trail:all and any with dirt on it
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $65.00
    Purchased At:Supergo
Strengths:greatest, most comfortable mountain biking short i have ever owned, they fit like a glove but provide ample room for absolute comfortability. i am a freak about shorts and clothing for that matter, i need ball-sack adjustment room and i hate suffocating my privates, and these shorts provide all that. these shorts feel like they are custom made for my phat ass, with flexy material in all the right places so as to not snag on your legs and feel all tight. it's really hard to describe perfection.
Weaknesses:none whatsoever, maybe with the exception of only three available colors, who cares black rules anyways
Similar Products Used:crappy other brands, that just don't compare
Bottom Line:greatest shorts i have ever owned, worth every expensive penny it took to own these. you will get your money's worth seriously.
