Chain never comes off. Lightweight. easy maintanence. doesn't stop me using gears on each end of cassette. $105.00 | | Purchased At: | Full Cycles | | Strengths: | Really strong, and almost no chain rub.... WHEN INSTALLED PROPERLY. Works great so far. e.13 tech support is awsome, i had a problem, and they helped me right away! | | Weaknesses: | Kinda hard to install, but not imposible at all. Price, but all chain guides are this expensive, so price is just a general weekness of all chainguides. | | Similar Products Used: | none | | Bike Setup: | 2005 Yeti ASX Stock except for w.9 rear derailure and shifter + diff seat post cause of broken bolt. | | Bottom Line: | Great chain guide and bash so far.
True bottom line is that e.13 takes care of their customers. I had a problem w/ the intilation and e-mailed them one evening. By the next afternoon, they were in contact w/ my LBS and had the problem fixed that afternoon. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$140.00 | | Purchased At: | Woodside Bike Shop | | Strengths: | Nice design, a bit heavy, but strong. | | Weaknesses: | Does not work with Shimano 2 piece BB. Simply does not fit, you must enlarge the hole in the mounting plate. Very DUMB!! Then you think, Oh well I'll scrap the idea of using the ISCG mounts and clamp it with the supplied adaptor between the BB and the frame. Nope, the threaded section of the BB will not pass through the adaptor. super DUMB. I use shimano hollowtech XT cranks.... But you will see in the reviews that the story is the same with Saint and Hone.
Also, the top guide piece hits the swing arm pivot on my bike. This is a bulky design. Not very universal. Also hits the swingarm pivot | | Similar Products Used: | none | | Bike Setup: | Cannondale Prophet 4X | | Bottom Line: | Cool looking, burley, but totally useless unless you want to modify this $140 POS. You would think for that much money, they could design it to work with standard shimano stuff. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$150.00 | | Purchased At: | CRC | | Strengths: | Really really strong and beefy, no flimsy metal bash, parts are well made, customer service one of the best on the market... | | Weaknesses: | Really hard to set up. Very noisy unless set up correct. Also, the distance between the chainring and the backplates is small when using a thick chainring - this results in an awful screeching noise if a little dirt gets in. | | Similar Products Used: | None to be honest... | | Bike Setup: | 04 coiler/hayes/raceface/888's etc... | | Bottom Line: | Well, its really up to you, but unless you're a pretty good mechanic the you're gonna find it a bugger to set up really well. I've tinkered to hell and back with mine and its still as noisy as hell. I found that the instructions are only any help if you have the ethirteen ring too, because the diagrams show the alignment, which is gonna be different depending on the thickness of your ring and chain...
Although, i have had it running for nearly every day, and the chain hasnt come off once - 100% truth.
My opinion is if you're a downhiller then get this, because the last thing you want in a race is the chain slipping, but if you're a freerider or 4X i would get a simpler guide like a Blackspire.

$125.00 | | Purchased At: | Direct from evil | | Strengths: | It keeps the chain on it is quite unless in the extremes and the bash guard is indestructable. | | Weaknesses: | Well the parts being plastic is kind of scketchy in my opinion and the bash gaurd cracked at the bolts, i would suggest using larger washers to try and prevent this. I had the chain get caught between the plate and sproket once which meant i had to take the crank off but tht was because it was adjusted wrong. | | Similar Products Used: | I have an MRP but I just got it so i couldn't tell you which is better. | | Bike Setup: | It was on my P.2 with a dj2, but i just put it on my stinky with a super t pro. | | Bottom Line: | Basically i would suggest buying it, it work right 98% of the time but tht 2% is the biggest pain ever. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

None. | | Similar Products Used: | lots of crap, don't make a mistake! | | Bike Setup: | 03 bighit expert, syncros pedals, chris king steelset | | Bottom Line: | Buy this and that will be the end of the story. I mean it works really well and looks cool. No problems! That is if you are smart and put it on following the steps and using your brain. If you can't do that then you are out of luck. One more thing, it will rub for about one week. This is the chain rubbing the top slider. Don't worry and don't try fixing it. Just wait and the plastic will wear a little and there will be no more sound. This is normal. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$150.00 | | Purchased At: | Alamo Bikes | | Strengths: | ummm the bash ring is strong? | | Weaknesses: | Ok, so heres how it goes. This thing has caused me hell in the last 2 months. It had been a good product untill a few times i was riding the chain would slip into the space between the bashring and sprocket. So before i went on my Dh trip to northstar i asked mi lbs to look at it, and they said everyhitng was fine. so i rode up at northstar and i could not pedal the whole itme it was complete madness, everytime i pedaled the chain got stuck. so i had a mechanic look at it and it was fine like everyhting else on my bike, except the top portion waqs bent a tiny little bit so it would f** up mi cahin. this was a real pain, i would have to buy a whole new system now so i would have to say this product sucks!! | | Similar Products Used: | mRP | | Bike Setup: | Banshee Scream, drop off trip, shimano xtr, soon to be mrp, hayes 9 | | Bottom Line: | This thing is a waste of money and it you fall on it and bend it it pretty much screws you over. $100.00 | | Strengths: | THERE ARE NONE besides the main part of the guide being made properly | | Weaknesses: | the pulley is made of 1mm wide plastic therefore on my bike i obviously blew it up, the other parts of the guide my chain melted through the plastic and the part that holds the pulley on blew up with my pulley on an 11 foot drop. this thing sucks, well at least they chose the bearings properly. but then again a lexan bashring sounds kool. mines got 4 cracks all around the mounting holes. now i gotta custom make a new guide becasue this one is not worth getting fixed so i can just break it again | | Bottom Line: | this thing sucks. save your money, the ads are all bs, its not true, lexan is heavyer then metal rings, i weighed them myself, its aroun 50 grams heavyer if u wanna be a weight geek, there weak so if your not a poser and you ride hard get yourself a metal bashring and a blackspire guide. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$190.00 | | Purchased At: | CRC | | Strengths: | Extremely strong and durable - the longest lasting guide youll find. Mega strong bash - better than a thin disc of metal. The chain will stay where you want it - period. | | Weaknesses: | Maybe a little difficult to set up, but then again all guides are like that. | | Similar Products Used: | MRP's, Blackspire(nearly as good). | | Bike Setup: | Cant be bothered to type it all but a DH rig anyway. | | Bottom Line: | If you want to get a guide, get this one. It might not suit everyones taste with the clear bash but it can be swapped for black or red. Also, the blackspires are very nearly as good, followed by mrp's and I have to admit the blackspires do look better. However, a blackspire sometimes will let you down and definately wont last as long. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$160.00 | | Purchased At: | westside cyclery | | Strengths: | chain does NOT come off,EVER! lexan bashguard is indestructable. | | Weaknesses: | let's all be real here, it makes noise and it causes drag, making your bike harder to pedal. | | Similar Products Used: | first chainguide other than bashguards. | | Bike Setup: | 2004 kona coiler 9-speed with wet dream components throughout. | | Bottom Line: | i got the srs after reading these reviews and i was surprised to find noise and drag when pedaling. in my 4 biggest cogs the chain rubs against the inner plate. i still hammer out 100 miles a week on my bike, and it works like it should, but i wont be surprising deer on the trail anymore due to the click-click noise while pedaling. this guide does lessen noise when jumping, however, and i am not sure why, but it seems to make my suspension perform smoother when doing jumps and drops.silly sounding,i know, but for some reason its true. this guide gets five flaming chili's for urban and jumping, but dont even think of using it on your cross country bike. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

In my practice run with this on one of the links on my chain poped off but only on one side I dont know if it was the guides fault But I dont think so cuz it was a crapy chain.
